Review of The LEGO Batman Movie
Just when we stopped singing “Everything is Awesome” from the LEGO Movie here comes the LEGO Batman Movie! I think our house started watching the trailers for this movie instantly and often. Personally movies like this I can take or leave having to see in the theater and we usually wait until it’s on demand or free on premium channels we have.
Well, I’m glad to tell you I was so glad to see this in the theater! It’s Batman so there’s a lot of action and the small screen wouldn’t do it justice! This is rated PG because there is rude humor and some of the action is violent. Personally, I think those things are what kept the adults in the theater entertained.
Can you make a full movie about LEGO Batman?
YES! It’s Batman and Will Arnett how can you not make a full movie. I mean he kinda stole the show in the orginal LEGO movie. The general plot is that there are big changes happening in Gotham and Batman needs to save the city from the Joker’s takeover. But to do so he may need to drop the lone vigilante thing and work with others. In doing that Batman just may learn to lighten up with the help of his butler Alfred and his new superhero sidekick Robin.
Why Should You Take Your Family To See It?
ABSOLUTELY! I love Will Arnett and Zach Galifianakis. There is some throwback phrases to early Batman movie and tv shows that the parents will enjoy. The movie also has a good moral lesson for the kids about working together and is delivered with humor so the kids don’t even realize they are learning it.
Is The LEGO Batman Movie Appropriate for All Ages?
There is some action scenes that the younger kids may try to emulate that they shouldn’t. The older kids may pick up some phrases or words that you may not want them to hear like hate and sucks. There are no swear words. Batman and Robin are in their LEGO underwear for some scenes also. The beginning is a little dark and scary with the Joker and little kids that are sensitive may get scared but will start to laugh after the first 10 minutes.
Wrapping It Up
Overall I say this is the new must see kids movie! Batman does have some beef with Superman that my daughter and husband had to explain to me since I didn’t see the latest Batman live action movie. He also has an issue with Ironman I guess because his Password is Ironman Sucks. My daughter’s utter shock on her face at that phrase is something I won’t forget anytime soon. HAHAHA
The LEGO Batman Movie opens nationwide on Friday, February 10 in 3D, 2D and IMAX and is 104 minutes long.
