Walt Disney World Theme Parks

Magic Kingdom Park

Reminder! Temporary Changes to Parades and Shows: Due to construction work, some Magic Kingdom entertainment offerings will be impacted certain dates throughout January. The Main Street Trolley Show and Move it! Shake it! Dance and Play it! will be adjusted Jan. 15 and 29. On these dates, the Trolley Show will use the Main Street fire truck and Move it! Shake it! Dance and Play it! will be presented at 12:30 and 15:40.

 

Epcot

New! TradNation Now Performing in Canada: Beginning Friday, January 15, TradNation, a musical family ensemble, joins the show lineup of live entertainment at World Showcase.  TradNation showcases a repertoire of traditional songs as well as original family compositions passed down through the ages. This interactive, musical celebration of life will be offered as a limited engagement five days a week on the Mill Stage in Canada.

 

Disney’s Hollywood Studios

New! Lights, Motors, Action! Extreme Stunt Show to Close: Disney’s Hollywood Studios is embarking on a 25-acre expansion, the largest in the theme park’s history, that will transport Guests both lands inspired by the blockbuster Star Wars and Toy Story films. The two new lands will each feature two signature attractions. To prepare for this expansion, Lights, Motors, Action! Extreme Stunt Show! and the nearby locations around Streets of America, including Honey I Shrunk the Kids Movie Set Adventure, Monsters Inc. character greeting, Studio Catering Co., and some merchandise shops will close April 2.

New! Kylo Ren Coming to Star Wars Launch Bay in Early Feb: Soon guests at Disney Parks will be able to interact with one of STAR WARS: The Force Awakens’ most intriguing new characters, Kylo Ren.  Beginning in early Feb, a visit to Star Wars Launch Bay at Disney’s Hollywood Studios will transport you to the Star Wars galaxy for an encounter with Kylo Ren on the bridge of his First Order Star Destroyer. Darth Vader will no longer be available for a meet and greet in this area but young Jedis can encounter him at Jedi Training: Trials of the Temple.

Reminder! Zootopia Sneak Peek: Beginning this week, you can catch a special sneak preview of scenes from “Zootopia,” giving you an advance look at several clips from the upcoming film. The sneak peek opens as part of the One Man’s Dream attraction at Disney’s Hollywood Studios on Thursday, January 21.

 

Disney’s Animal Kingdom

New! Flights of Wonder Closes for Refurbishment soon: Beginning Jan. 25, Flights of Wonder will be temporarily closed for refurbishments. As an alternative, Guests can see birds in the Winged Encounters: The Kingdom Takes Flight show in front of the Tree of Life.

New! New Exhibit Coming to Rafiki’s Planet Watch: In Rafiki’s Planet Watch at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, you’ll soon be able to explore a new exhibit that delves into some of the behind-the-scenes research that went into the production of Disney’s upcoming comedic adventure “Zootopia.” At Walt Disney Animation Studios, the journey in making every film begins with research. In order to create the rich and engaging modern mammal metropolis of Zootopia and its wide variety of animal inhabitants, the filmmakers spent 18 months studying animals and their habitats. Their very first stop was Disney’s Animal Kingdom in March 2014, where they worked closely with the park’s team of animal care professionals. The ‘Zootopia’ exhibit opens January 29 inside Conservation Station at Rafiki’s Planet Watch.

New! New Popcorn Bucket Design Coming Soon: The Disney Parks Blog recently shared a first look at a brand new souvenir popcorn bucket that will be coming to Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Guests will be able to purchase the lotus popcorn bucket later this year. This bucket also lights up, becoming a beautiful luminary.

 

Walt Disney World Resort Hotels

New! Courtyard Pool & Bar refurbishment Jan. 18–22: Courtyard Pool and Courtyard Pool Bar at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa are closed for refurbishment Jan. 18–22. During this time, Guests may use the Beach Pool and Beach Pool Bar & Grill.

 

Walt Disney World Resort – General

New! Modify Dining Reservations Online: You are now able to modify Disney dining reservations at Walt Disney Parks and Resorts right from your computer. Previously, you had to call to make any changes to existing reservations, such as seating time and number of Guests. This new “Change Reservation” feature is available now and allows you to make modifications to reservations up to 20 minutes prior to the reserved seating time. This feature is not currently available on MyDisneyExperience, but on a mobile device, you can visit http://www.disneyworld.com/dining to make, modify or cancel a dining reservation.

New! Special Menu Offering at Wolfgang Puck Express: Wolfgang Puck Express is offering the Pesto & Prosciutto Pizza now through March 13. This new menu item features goat cheese, roasted tomatoes, kalamata olives and whole milk mozzarella.

New! Sunday Brunch Coming to Fulton’s Crab House: Beginning Jan. 17, Guests dining at Fulton’s Crab House may enjoy a new Sunday brunch menu from 11:30 a.m.-3
p.m. The brunch menu features delicious dishes including Crab and Asparagus Benedict with Lake Meadow Farm eggs, jumbo lump crab, asparagus, grilled Neuski bacon slab served on a toasted challah and topped with lobster infused hollandaise and New Orleans BBQ Shrimp with a crispy 5-minute egg, buttermilk biscuits and a spicy black pepper butter sauce. Other menu items include Corned Beef Hash, the Monte Cristo Sandwich and the Kobe Breakfast Burger with a fried egg, hash browns, cheddar cheese and sweet onion jam. This new menu is only available on Sundays and is in addition to the main lunch menu.

Jan. 22 – 24: ACME Artist Raymond Swanland will be appearing from 7 – 9p.m., each day at Star Wars Galactic Outpost (previously D-Street) in Disney Springs West Side. Don’t miss the chance to see some of his latest Star Wars releases.
