New! Same-Day Dining Reservations Coming to Jungle Skipper Canteen: From Feb. 12 through Feb. 27, same-day reservations will be accepted at Jungle Navigation Co. Ltd. Skipper Canteen in Magic Kingdom Park. Guests will be able to make reservations for either lunch or dinner that same day by visiting jungleskippercanteen.com or calling 407-993-1933.

New! Valentine’s Day Treats: Celebrate your valentine with a chocolate raspberry cupcake from Main Street Bakery, or indulge in the Black Forest waffle with vanilla ice cream at Sleepy Hollow.

Reminder! Temporary Changes to Parades and Shows: Due to construction work, some Magic Kingdom entertainment offerings will be impacted certain dates throughout February and March. The Main Street Trolley Show and Move it! Shake it! Dance and Play it! will be adjusted Feb. 9, 11, 17 and 19, as well as March 9, 11 and 15. On these dates, the Trolley Show will use the Main Street fire truck and Move it! Shake it! Dance and Play it! will be presented at 12:30 and 15:40.



New! Valentine’s Day Treats: At Fountain View in Epcot, you can enjoy a chocolate cupcake with a strawberry-marshmallow center, strawberry butter and a ganache drizzle.

New! Celebrate Black History Month at Epcot: During Black History Month, Epcot’s Tapestry of America: Celebrating African American Heritage brings The Kinsey Collection to life. This collection is an ongoing showcase of rare art, documents, books and artifacts amassed by philanthropists Bernard and Shirley Kinsey representing over 400 years of African-American  achievement. The American Adventure Rotunda has been enhanced with new Legacy Portraits, images of the men and women that helped to create change and were instrumental in the development and progress of our nation. Each Saturday in February, Guests will have the unique opportunity to attend a book signing with renowned African-American authors from a spectrum of disciplines, each having made an impact on the tapestry of America!

Upcoming Saturday Author Signing Series: Chef G. Garvin on Saturday, Feb. 13 at 1 and 3 p.m. (Book: “Turn Up the Heat”) and Dr. Terrence Roberts on Saturday, Feb. 27 at 1 and 3 p.m. (Book: “Lessons From Little Rock”).

New! Givenchy Event Feb 10 – 15: Guests who visit the Givenchy Boutique at Epcot Feb. 10-15 and purchase $100 or more in Givenchy merchandise will receive a complimentary Givenchy pouch and deluxe sample plus bottle engraving.

Reminder! Nine Dragons Restaurant at China Pavilion Celebrates Chinese New Year: In celebration of the Chinese “Year of the Monkey,” Nine Dragons is offering some special menu items and a new prix fixe lunch menu. The lunch special (3 courses for $17.98) starts with spring rolls or pot stickers. There is a choice of three entrees: Happily Family, with sliced chicken breast, beef and shrimp stir fry; Moo Goo Gai Pan with stir-fried chicken breast, mushrooms and snow peas; and General Tso’s Chicken Buns Lunch Box with three steamed buns and hot-and-sour soup. Dessert is strawberry-red bean ice cream or ginger-caramel ice cream. Another addition to the menu, just for Year of the Monkey are three steamed buns: braised pork belly served with chili aioli; sweet-and-sour, batter-fried fish buns topped with pork floss; and General Tso’s Chicken buns with batter-fried chicken breast. New! Special Valentine’s Day Cupcake: Disney’s Hollywood Studios will be offering Valentine’s red velvet specialty cupcakes beginning Feb. 8. These cupcakes will be available at the following locations: ABC Commissary, Backlot Express, Catalina Eddie’s, Fairfax Fare, Rosie’s All-American Café, Starring Rolls Café, Studio Catering Co., and Trolley Car Café. The cupcakes are included in the Disney Dining Plan and available through Feb. 21.


Disney’s Animal Kingdom

Reminder! ‘Lion Guard Adventure’ Opened Feb. 7: If you have seen the hit TV movie “The Lion Guard: Return of the Roar,” on Disney Channel, you won’t want to miss this new activity coming to Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Guests will be able to become honorary members of the Lion Guard in a brand new experience called The Lion Guard Adventure starting Feb 7, 2016.  This interactive experience will allow young guests to explore the park in search of five main characters from “The Lion Guard” – Kion, Bunga, Fuli, Beshte, and Ono, who are represented as colorful statues that are perfect for a kid-sized photo-ops. The experience encourages interest in protecting animals and caring for nature. Once they complete the adventure, each child can take a special pledge to become an honorary member of “The Lion Guard” and receive a special button. This activity is currently scheduled through late March.

New! Boat Rentals Unavailable at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge: Due to the ongoing refurbishment project at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, boat rentals are no longer available at the resort. Guests can visit Fort Wilderness Marina at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground, Bike Barn at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground or The Boat Nook at Disney’s Contemporary Resort instead for boat and recreation rentals.

New! Dig site Spa at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort Temporarily Closed: The Dig Site Spa at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort will be closed for refurbishment Feb. 7–13.

Reminder! Flying Fish Restaurant Refurbishment in 2016: Flying Fish Cafe at Disney’s BoardWalk Resort will undergo refurbishment from February 2016 through Fall 2016. The restaurant will be closed during this time. You can expect a whole new look, and the team will be working on a new menu (but no worries, the potato-wrapped snapper remains and seasonal approach stay the same).

New! Blizzard Beach Closed Due to Cold Weather: Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park will be closed February 10-11, 2016 due to forecasted low temperatures.

New! Valentine’s Day Treats: At The Ganachery at Disney Springs, you’ll find specialty ganache squares and pops decorated for Valentine’s Day—raspberry enrobed in dark chocolate and passion fruit enrobed in milk chocolate. Your sweetie will love the surprise of a pre-packed box of ganache. For those with a love of The Dark Side, Star Wars-inspired chocolate bars are available in both dark and milk chocolate.

Reminder! Starbucks Winter Offerings Available Feb 16: Beginning Feb. 16, Main Street Bakery at Magic Kingdom, Fountain View at Epcot, and Creature Comforts at Animal Kingdom  will offer a variety of items as part of the Starbucks 2016 Winter offerings including the Smoked Butterscotch Latte and Teavana Citrus Green Tea Latte.

New! ESPN Wide World of Sports Expansion: ESPN Wide World of Sports at the Walt Disney World Resort is preparing to break ground on a new, state-of-the-art cheerleading and dance team competition venue. ESPN Wide World of Sports worked alongside Varsity Spirit to create a space specifically designed for cheerleading and dance competitions. This venue will provide competition space, warm up and practice areas, along with areas for judges and officials. With its flexible design, this new venue will be capable of multi-sport and entertainment events, as well. Construction on the state-of-the-art venue is expected to be complete by mid-2017.


Merchandise Events

February 4 – 29: Representatives from Precious Moments dolls will be on hand for the release of their new Valentine inspired collection, among other fan favorites, throughout the day, each day, at Marketplace Fun Finds in Disney Springs Marketplace. Tip: Doll Designer Linda Rick will make a special appearance February 19 – 21.

February 10 – 14: Greg McCullough will be on hand for a special appearance and signing of his latest works at Art of Disney at Epcot from 1 – 8 p.m., each day. Also look for additional appearances by Greg later this month at Disney Springs.

February 12 – 13: Take part in an artist showcase at Art of Disney with Brian Blackmore and Mark Seppala who will be on hand for a special appearance and signing of their latest works February 12 from 6 – 8 p.m. and February 13 from 4 – 6 p.m.

February 12 – 14 and February 19 – 21: Stop in and check out the latest Yardley fragrance and beauty products and meet representative Isis Sio throughout the day, each day at The Queen’s Table in the United Kingdom Pavilion at World Showcase.

February 14 – 17 and February 19 – 21: Be sure to stop by and check out the latest releases of handmade bath and body products from Rinse. Representatives will be on hand throughout the day, each day at Heritage Manor in The American Adventure Pavilion.

Merchandise Updates

New! Epcot Flower and Garden Festival Merchandise: This year, the Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival runs from March 2 to May 30. Once again, Festival merchandise will be available at the Festival Center as well as at select kiosks throughout Epcot. This year’s merchandise features Figment on the main Festival logo, which will be available on clothing for women and men, a decorative flower pot and a Limited Edition retail MagicBand (lot size 2500). There’s a Ladies Topiary collection which includes apparel, a two-pin set and a Tervis tumbler. The Guy’s Garden collection include apparel and a hat. There’s new Star Warsgarden items featuring Yoda and a new Dooney & Bourke design, which also features Figment.
