Magic Kingdom Park

Reminder! Skipper Canteen Now Open: The Jungle Navigation Co. Ltd. Skipper Canteen opened on December 16 at Walt Disney World Resort. Just steps from the legendary Jungle Cruise attraction you can enjoy the bold, flavorful tastes of Asia, South America and Africa at this new 222-seat table-service restaurant staffed by the wisecracking crew of the Jungle Navigation Co. Ltd. The Jungle Skipper Canteen touts an adventurous menu with some new and interesting dishes inspired by the exotic flavors of the rivers traveled on the Jungle Cruise. You can try head-on shrimp or sustainable fish collar, or stick with delicious, familiar tastes such as a grilled steak, pork tenderloin or chicken breast. Two non-alcoholic specialties will be served: the Punch Line Punch, with tropical fruit juice and mango puree (also available with a spiced rim for an extra zinger); and the Schweitzer Slush, with frozen apple juice and passion fruit topped with bursting green apple boba balls. The Disney Dining Plan is accepted. Reservations are not available at this time. It’s walk-up only as of now.

New! Additional Food & Beverage Offerings Dec. 19 – Jan. 2: During the busy holiday season, Magic Kingdom offers several extra food and beverage locations and menu items. The following will be available Dec. 19 – Jan.2.

  • Diamond Horseshoe: Quick Service lunch (11 am – 3 pm); Table Service dinner (beginning at 4:30 pm)
  • Market Street Sandwich Cart: Offering Italian-themed sandwiches and salads
  • Storybook Circus Sandwich Cart: Offering sandwiches and salads
  • Tomorrowland Terrace: Offering burgers
  • Prince Eric’s Village Market: Offering pre-packages sandwiches, caprese cups and salads
  • Westward Ho: Offering corn dogs
  • Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn & Cafe: Offering a southwest burger
  • Turkey Legs will be available at Cool Ship, Frontierland Turkey Leg Wagon, Tomorrowland Turkey Leg Cart, Liberty Square Turkey Leg cart and Heritage House Turkey Leg Cart.



New! Baymax Joins Epcot Character Spot: Character Spot at Innoventions West, is expanding to offer Guests opportunities to meet even more of their Disney friends. Guests can now meet Baymax, everyone’s favorite personal healthcare companion from Disney’s “Big Hero 6.” Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse and Goofy will continue to greet Guests on the opposite side of the breezeway, and Chip ‘n’ Dale can be found just around the corner outside. Character Spot is open from park open to park close daily.

New! ‘Disney & Pixar Short Film Festival’ to Now Open At Epcot: This new experience will feature a look into the visionary minds behind some of the world’s most iconic animated films today. Once inside the theater, guests can put on their 3D glasses and enter the imaginative worlds of three animated shorts – “Get A Horse,” “For The Birds” and “La Luna” – which will burst to life on the big screen (and in the theater) like never before. ‘Disney & Pixar Short Film Festival’  is now open in Future World at Epcot.

Reminder! Candlelight Processional Now at Epcot: America Gardens Theatre is once again filled with the beautiful sounds of the beloved Epcot holiday traditions – the Candlelight Processional. The show features the retelling the Christmas story while accompanied by a masterful orchestra and choir. The list of celebrity narrators for this week includes:

  • 12/21 – 12/23 Daniel Dae Kim – NEW
  • 12/24 Edward James Olmos

You can enjoy the Candlelight Processional three times each evening, 5:00, 6:45 and 8 p.m., from November 27 to December 30.

Reminder! Givenchy Event at Plume et Palette in France: Guests who visit the Givenchy Boutique at Epcot Dec. 16-25 and purchase $100 or more will receive a complimentary gift as well as complimentary bottle engraving.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Reminder: Symphony in the Stars: A Galactic Spectacular Dessert Party begins Jan. 5: Starting Jan. 5, 2016, and continuing nightly through March 19 at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, tempt your sweet tooth with a special dessert party that’s out of this galaxy. Symphony in the Stars: A Galactic Spectacular Dessert Party can be booked now by calling 407-939- 3463 or visiting Disneyworld.com. With something for every Sith or Jedi, the party includes Star Wars-themed desserts (including the famous Darth Vader Cupcakes), a souvenir Chewbacca stein, and a selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, all with an up-close view of “Symphony in the Stars: A Galactic Spectacular!”

New! The Comedy Warehouse Holiday Special Returns Dec 19: “The Comedy Warehouse Holiday Special” is a hilarious, family-friendly improvisational holiday comedy show. Taking place in the Premiere Theater, the show will run daily Dec. 19 – Jan 3 at 11:30 am, 12:30 pm, 1:30 pm, 3:30 pm, 4:30 pm and 5:30 pm.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom

New! Upcoming Refurbishments: Beginning Jan. 4, the following experiences will begin refurbishment:

  • Maharajah Jungle Trek in Asia, scheduled to return to operation on Jan. 21
  • Kali River Rapids in Asia, scheduled to return to operation in mid-February
  • Disney Outfitters on Discovery Island, scheduled to return in mid-March

During the refurbishment of Disney Outfitters, Riverside Depot will remain open. Wilderness Explorers badges typically earned within Maharajah Jungle Trek will continue to be available from Badge Guides outside the location.

New! Thirsty River Bar and Trek Snacks Now Open: The Trek Snacks menu varies throughout the day, with delicious pastries in the morning and more substantial bites like sushi and sandwiches in the afternoon and evening. Pastries include assorted muffins and Danish, croissants and an indulgent chocolate twist. Healthful snacks like fresh fruit, crudité and hummus, edamame and an Asian noodle salad are available. At Thirsty River Bar, look for specialty cocktails such as the Khumbu Icefall (guava rum blended with coconut and raspberry puree), Himalayan Ghost (Snow Leopard vodka, guava, and Odwalla lemonade) and the Durbar Margarita. Non-alcoholic drinks are also available.

New! Additional FastPass+ Location Available Dec 26-Jan 2: From Dec. 26- Jan. 2, Guests can visit an additional FastPass+ kiosk in Asia, across from Yak & Yeti Restaurant.

New! Food and Beverage Kiosks Get New Names: Some of the Food & Beverage kiosks around the park have new official names. The new names will be reflected in My Disney Experience and on guidemaps. The following kiosks have transitioned to new names:

  • Terra Treats on Discovery Island previously known locally as the Allergy Kiosk
  • Mahindi in Africa previously known locally as the Harambe Popcorn Cart
  • Caravan Road in Asia previously known locally as Bradley Falls
  • Warung Outpost in Asia previously known locally as Upcountry
  • Chakranadi in Asia previously known locally as Maharajah Pretzel
  • Eight Spoon Cafe on Discovery Island previously known as Beastly Kiosk
  • Smiling Crocodile on Discovery Island previously known as Gardens Kiosk
  • Feeding Ground on Discovery Island previously known locally as DI Popcorn

Walt Disney World Resort Hotels

New! Campfire Closed at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge: Due to our ongoing refurbishment project at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, the campfire on the beach is closed. For a campfire experience, Guests can visit the Campfire at Disney’s Contemporary Resort or Chip ‘n’ Dale’s Campfire Sing-A-Long at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground.

New! Policy Updates for Walt Disney Parks and Resorts: To ensure these items do not cause a distraction or confusion for our Cast Members and Security personnel in the parks, we no longer will sell toy guns, including toy blasters and squirt guns on Disneyland and Walt Disney World Resort property.  Additionally, Guests ages 14 years and older will no longer be permitted to wear costumes into the theme parks. In addition to the screening processes already in place at the entrances to the theme parks, Guests will be randomly selected for a secondary screening using a metal detector. Full park rules and regulations are posted online at https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/park-rules/ .

Reminder! Disney’s Contemporary Resort Religious Services: For our Guests celebrating Christmas, the Walt Disney World Resort will host religious services on Friday, December 25, 2015 in the Fantasia Ballroom of Disney’s Contemporary Resort. Parking is available at Contemporary Resort for Guests with a confirmed resort or dining reservation. Guests staying at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort and Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa should use Monorail Transportation provided to Contemporary Resort. All other Guests should be instructed to take a bus to Magic Kingdom Park and board the shuttle to Contemporary Resort. Shuttle service will begin at 7:00am. The service schedule will be as follows: Catholic Mass: 8:00am and 10:15am, Protestant Service: 9:00am.

Update! Reservations Open for Countdown to Midnight: NYE 2016 at Disney’s Yacht & Beach Club Staring Vanessa Williams: Ring in 2016 in style! The convention center at Disney’s Yacht & Beach Club Resort will play host to a progressive 3-in-1 New Year’s extravaganza. Enjoy an interactive comedy reunion at Adventurer’s Club, then head over to Club Live to rock out with a 9-piece dance band. At Club Vinyl, a 7-piece band is remixing today’s hits with steamy jazz. Don’t forget to grab your New Year’s hats and tiaras for the countdown to midnight—complete with a balloon drop and confetti cannons—to toast to the New Year in a keepsake champagne glass. Appetizers, gourmet small bites, and dessert are included.  Beer, wine, and mixed drinks are also included for guests over 21. Reservations are now open to Walt Disney World Resort guests, and can be made by calling 407-WDW-DINE. Admission is $300 per person—tax and gratuity included. Vanessa Williams, the talented actress (known for her roles in ABC’s Desperate Housewives and Ugly Betty) and singer will be performing at the event.

Reminder! Memory Maker Price Change: Disney PhotoPass has announced new prices for Memory Maker products. The pre-arrival advanced purchase price of Memory Maker, which does not include photos taken within three days of purchase, is now $149 (from $169). The new prices for the standard Memory Maker, which can be used immediately is now $169 (from $199).

Merchandise Events

Now – December 30: Celebrating Holidays Around the World with us at Epcot? Be sure to look for special merchandise locations, artist appearances and signings and find that perfect gift for everyone on your list!

Now – January 4: Representatives from Precious Moments dolls will be on hand for the release of some of their newest dolls, among other fan favorites, throughout the day, each day, at Marketplace Fun Finds in Disney Springs Marketplace.
